Combine all ingredients in high-powered mini blender like a Ninja or Bullet and blend until smooth.
Add salt and crushed red peppers and give it a few pulses.
Adjust flavours. If it is too thick, add more water. Should it thicken in the fridge, just add water to thin.
Notes
If you're strictly on a low fat Plant-based regimen, substitute a can of chickpeas for the quarter cup of tahini and only drizzle in a tablespoon of tahini before blending the beans, garlic, water, lemon, crushed peppers and optional salt.
