Cinnamon & Cayenne Hot Chocolate

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups unsweetened plant-based milk almond, oat or soy work well
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 –2 tbsp maple syrup adjust to taste
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper or more for extra heat!
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: vegan whipped cream or marshmallows for topping

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan, heat the plant-based milk over medium heat until warm (but not boiling).
  • Whisk in the cocoa powder, maple syrup, cinnamon and cayenne until fully combined.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Pour into mugs and, if desired, top with vegan whipped cream or marshmallows. Sprinkle a little extra cinnamon or cayenne on top for a festive touch.
  • Sip, savor and feel the warmth!
