This Thankful Thursday, I want to reflect on something we don’t often think about when we’re planning meals, trying new recipes, or shopping for groceries: the incredible impact our plant-based choices have on the planet.
Did you know that each person who follows a plant-based lifestyle for a year saves approximately:

- 30 animal lives—an enormous contribution to ethical and sustainable living.
These numbers aren’t just statistics; they’re proof that what we do as individuals truly matters. And if you’ve been plant-based for a while, take a moment to appreciate the long-term difference you’ve already made. Why I’m Thankful
Every time I think about how far I’ve come on this journey, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude—not just for the positive changes in my health, but for the knowledge that I’m contributing to something so much bigger. From reducing deforestation to conserving precious resources, I’m thankful to know that my choices are aligned with my values.

I started out several years ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others.
