Menopause is natural—but the way it’s marketed? Not so much.
From $80 collagen powders to “hormone-balancing” teas, menopause has become a booming industry. And while support is essential, there’s growing concern: Are women being exploited in the name of relief?
This is the Pink Tax in action:
products targeted at women—often priced higher than similar items for general use. Now, add the emotional weight of menopause to the mix and you get an industry capitalizing on vulnerability, promising magic in a bottle (with a premium price tag).
Here’s the kicker:
Many of these products lack real science. They’re dressed in wellness branding, but offer little more than placebo relief—if that.
You don’t need to spend a fortune to support your changing body.
What helps most? Consistent sleep. Fiber-rich, whole foods. Movement. And yes—talking to a real healthcare provider, not an Instagram ad.
Plant-based tip of the week:
Ditch the pricey powders and try my hardy hormone friendly, veggie sandwich ideas, packed with vibrant veggies, plant-based protein and whole-grain goodness.
Here are just a few sandwich ideas that made my meno a song!
Bottom Line: Don’t fall for hype disguised as help. You deserve real support, not overpriced promises.

I started out several years ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
