Hey there, plant-based friends!
This Seasonal Sunday, let’s talk about a sweet seasonal fruit that’s at its prime right now—PEARS! With their juicy, buttery texture and natural sweetness, pears make a perfect addition to fall-inspired treats. Plus, they’re packed with fiber, antioxidants, and vitamin C.
Today, I’m sharing a simple, oil-free, dairy-free dessert that showcases pears beautifully: Baked Cinnamon Pears. It’s the perfect way to indulge in something warm and cozy while staying plant-based.
Baked Cinnamon Pears
Ingredients:
- 2 ripe pears, halved and cored
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- A handful of chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- A splash of vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the pear halves on a baking dish, cut side up.
- Drizzle with maple syrup, sprinkle with cinnamon, and add a splash of vanilla.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pears are soft and slightly caramelized.
- Top with chopped nuts for some crunch if desired.
Pro Tip: Serve these pears with a scoop of banana nice cream (simply frozen bananas blended until smooth) for an extra creamy treat!

I started out several years ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
