Hi,

Bananas are known for their potassium and yes, they have a lot, around 400 to 450 milligrams in a medium-sized fruit.

But here’s something most people don’t know.

A large baked potato, especially the kind you’d get at a steakhouse with the skin on, can contain around 900 milligrams of potassium. That’s more than double a banana.

Potassium helps with muscle recovery, hydration and steady energy and many of us aren’t getting enough of it.

And there’s even more reason to love potatoes. They’re made up of 88% complex carbohydrates and loaded with resistant starch, which helps stabilize blood sugar and supports a healthy gut microbiome. A potato actually has more fiber than a bowl of oatmeal and even more vitamin C than an orange.

So while bananas are great, a simple baked potato might actually give you more of what your body needs.

And avocado? It comes in strong too, with about 485 milligrams in a medium fruit, actually more than a banana but higher in fat.

Wishing you steady energy and plant-powered strength.
