Some years ago I came up with this idea and it has been “old faithful” ever since.
When I don’t have time to make one of my dressings or sauces (see “Sauce-ology” tab on my website) or lack some of the ingredients, I can always mix this up!
It’s tasty, versatile and of course oil free.
Depending on how much you want to make, simply take about:
1/4 cup of your favorite hummus
1/4 cup of your favorite vinegar
Mix the two in a jar by shaking it or in a mini blender. Whichever you prefer.
Here, I used balsamic but you can use red wine vinegar, a white balsamic or just plane distilled white vinegar.
I’ve even used a lemon hummus or Baba ghanouj and it was outstanding.
The brand in the photos I found at Whole Foods Market. It’s a local brand here in Tampa bay. Whole Foods also does this in Ohio with a local hummus called “Amir”. I love it because it’s oil free.
Tell me what combinations you came up with!
I started out several years ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
