Here’s how to do it:

  1. Press the Tofu: Remove excess water by pressing the tofu for at least 15 minutes. If using super firm, it will cut the time as it contains less water.
  2. Cut Into Cubes: Slice into your desired shape—cubes, strips or slabs.
  3. Coat with Starch: Toss the tofu in cornstarch or potato starch until lightly coated.
  4. Cook to Crispy: Pan-fry in a non-stick skillet (oil-free or with a light spritz of water) or bake at 400°F for 25 minutes, flipping halfway.
