Happy Sunday!
This Sunday, we’re celebrating one of nature’s most fleeting treasures, fresh figs. With their honeyed sweetness, delicate floral aroma and luscious, jammy interior, figs are a fruit like no other.
Available for just a short window in late summer, figs are best enjoyed at their peak, tender, fragrant and almost too beautiful to eat. Their versatility is endless:
- Pair with herbs like rosemary or thyme for a savory twist.
- Roast or grill for a warm, caramelized treat.
Figs aren’t just delicious, they’re rich in fiber, antioxidants and minerals, making them as nourishing as they are indulgent. But their season is short, so now is the perfect time to savor their magic.
Tip: Look for figs that are soft to the touch with a slight give and a naturally sweet aroma, that’s when you know they’re ready.

I started out over 10 years ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
