Hey there!
This week’s Seasonal Sunday spotlight is on one of fall’s most underrated treasures, Italian plums. These deep purple gems are naturally sweet, rich in antioxidants and perfect for snacking, baking, roasting or turning into a gorgeous jammy treat.
Their flavor intensifies as they soften and unlike regular plums, Italian plums become sweeter and deeper in flavor when cooked, making them ideal for cozy fall desserts and warm seasonal dishes.
When you bring them home, let them ripen on a plate or platter on the counter, but make sure they’re not touching each other. They bruise very easily and keeping them separated helps them ripen evenly without damage.
If you see them in your market, grab a handful or two. They’re only in season for a short time!

I started out over 10 years ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
