For this Savory Saturday, I wanted to share something simple, something a bit old-fashioned in the best way.
Long hot peppers are one of those ingredients that you’ve probably passed by in the produce section and wondered what these long, sometimes very curly peppers are. Nothing complicated, nothing overdone, just fresh, bold flavor that adds a little life to whatever you’re making.
They’re often enjoyed in the simplest ways, sliced fresh into salads, added to a rice bowl for a bit of heat or just eaten as they are. There’s something about that crisp texture and gentle spice that makes everything feel a little more vibrant.
Some people prefer them raw for that fresh bite, while others will lightly grill or sauté them to bring out a softer, slightly smoky flavor. Either way, they don’t need much, just a simple approach that lets them shine.

I started out over 10 years ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
