One wellness trick I use all the time has nothing to do with fancy ingredients.
It’s preparation.
One of the easiest ways to make nourishing meals feel simpler during the week is prepping a few basics ahead of time instead of trying to cook everything from scratch every single day.
Things like:
- Washing and chopping greens ahead of time
- Soaking beans overnight before cooking
- Prepping a simple dressing or sauce for the week
These little things may sound small, but they make it so much easier to throw together balanced meals when life gets busy or energy feels low.
It also helps reduce the temptation to grab highly processed convenience foods simply because they’re faster.
Wellness doesn’t always come from doing more. Often, it comes from making healthy choices easier and more accessible for yourself.
A little preparation can go a very long way.

I started out over 10 years ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
