One of the things I’m most thankful for is the opportunity to share what I’ve learned with others.
Teaching someone how to cook a new dish, showing them a simple technique or helping them make a healthier version of an old favorite can be incredibly rewarding. Sometimes, it’s not just about the recipe, it’s about giving someone the confidence to try something new in their own kitchen.
I love seeing that moment when someone realizes, “I can actually do this!” That’s when cooking becomes more than just preparing a meal. It becomes a skill they can carry with them and share with someone else.
Knowledge becomes even more valuable when we pass it along. Whether you’re teaching a family member, helping a friend or simply sharing something you’ve learned, you never know how far that little bit of knowledge might go.
Who has taught you something in the kitchen that you still use today?

I started out over a decade ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
