Have you ever wondered if feeling tired during menopause is always “just hormones”?
Hormones absolutely play a role, but something many people don’t realize is that iron intake can matter too.
And honestly, I didn’t fully understand how many plant foods contained iron until I went plant-based myself and started studying more deeply through my certifications, not only as a Chef, but also as a Certified Instructor for women’s health and weight loss.
Foods like lentils, beans, spinach and other legumes naturally contain iron and pairing them with vitamin C-rich foods like bell peppers, citrus, strawberries or tomatoes can help support better absorption.
It’s a small detail that can make a bigger difference than people expect.
The goal isn’t perfection or obsessing over nutrients, it’s simply learning how to support the body more intentionally during this stage of life.
Have you noticed certain foods helping your energy levels more than others?
I’d love for you to share your experience with me.

I started out over 10 years ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
