This week’s Friday Faves is all about something simple, colorful and naturally sweet, Fresh Fruit Skewers. They’re a refreshing, no-cook snack that feels a little festive while still being completely plant-based and oil-free.
Fresh Fruit Skewers
Ingredients (about 6–8 skewers):
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled
- 1 cup pineapple, cut into chunks
- 1 cup grapes
- 1 cup melon (cantaloupe or honeydew), cubed
- 1 tsp lime zest
- Wooden skewers
Instructions:
- Wash and prepare all the fruit.
- Thread strawberries, pineapple, grapes and melon onto skewers, alternating fruits for color.
- Sprinkle lightly with lime zest and serve immediately or chill for 20–30 minutes for an extra refreshing treat.
Optional: Garnish with fresh mint or basil leaves.
Simple, hydrating and naturally sweet, the perfect little bite to brighten your Friday.

I started out over 10 years ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
