Happy Savory Saturday,

When we think of oregano, most of us picture Italian sauces or Mediterranean meals. But oregano has more than one story to tell. Classic Mediterranean oregano brings warmth and depth to pasta dishes, pizzas and slow-simmered sauces, while Mexican oregano has a brighter, citrusy note that pairs beautifully with beans and spicy flavors.

In my kitchen, I use oregano often:

  • You’ll find it in my Marinara sauce.
  • I also love it in my Mediterranean Bowl, where oregano and mint bring life to chickpeas.
  • And for a twist, I add Mexican oregano to my refried beans for a flavor you might not expect.

Oregano shows us how one herb can travel across cuisines and bring its own voice to every dish. If you’d like to try one of these recipes, simply hit reply, I’d be happy to share them with you.

With flavor and gratitude.
