This week I’m loving something simple, crunchy and completely oil-free, Savory Oat Crackers. They’re made with pantry staples, baked thin until crisp and sturdy enough for dips, spreads or crumbling over soup. No refined flour, no added oil, just whole ingredients that truly satisfy.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats (or 1 cup oat flour)
- 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika or dried rosemary (or preferred spices)
- ½ cup water (add gradually as needed)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- If using rolled oats, blend into a fine flour.
- In a bowl, mix oat flour, flaxseed, chia (if using), salt and spices.
- Add water slowly, stirring until a thick, spreadable paste forms.
- Spread mixture very thinly and evenly on the parchment (thin = crispier crackers).
- Bake for 20–30 minutes, until dry and lightly golden.
- Cool completely, then break into rustic pieces.
They’re simple, nourishing and endlessly customizable, perfect with my Spinach Artichoke Dip or hummus of your choice.

I started out over 10 years ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
