Have you ever noticed how your cravings shift with the seasons? In winter, lentil soup, roasted vegetables and warm, cozy meals feel just right. But as the days grow longer and the light begins to change, something shifts.
I’m already craving my big daily salads again. Not because I’m trying to eat less or because I want something “lighter,” but because my body feels ready for fresh, crisp, vibrant foods.
Cold weather calls for soups, stews, cooked grains and roasted roots that feel grounding and warming. As the weather softens, greens, herbs, crunchy vegetables and hydrating foods feel more energizing and aligned.
It’s not about restriction. It’s about rhythm. Winter invites simmering pots, while spring and summer invite big bowls. Same nourishment, just seasonal harmony.
What are you craving right now? Are you still in soup mode or are fresh bowls starting to call your name?
Reply and tell me. I always love hearing what’s happening in your kitchens.

I started out over 10 years ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
