Today, I’m thankful for the simple joy of a home-cooked meal. Preparing food at home brings comfort, creates connection and gives us the opportunity to nourish ourselves and the people we love. Some of the most memorable meals aren’t the fanciest, they’re the ones shared around the table with simple, wholesome ingredients.

If you’ve been trying to lose those last few stubborn pounds, one of the simplest changes you can make is eating at home more often instead of relying on restaurant meals or takeout. Home cooking gives you control over the ingredients and portions, making it easier to enjoy satisfying, whole-food, plant-based meals that support your goals without feeling deprived.

I wrote a poem about it:

You don’t need an influencer to save the day
Just skip the drive-thru and cook, okay?
Whole-food, plant-based, the flavors are real
And kids will love every home-cooked meal

Today, I’m thankful for every opportunity to gather in the kitchen, prepare a simple meal and appreciate the nourishment that comes from cooking with love.

What’s one home-cooked meal that always brings you comfort?
