Welcome to Wellness Wednesday!
This Wellness Wednesday, it’s all about bean sprouts, a light, fresh ingredient that adds instant texture, crunch and a subtle lift to everyday meals.
You’ve probably seen them before, often served with dishes like Pad Thai or added to ramen. But they’re not just for restaurant-style meals, they’re incredibly easy to use at home.
Bean sprouts have a clean, mild flavor that works with just about anything. They don’t overpower a dish, they brighten it.
Try adding them to:
- Grain bowls or rice dishes
- Fresh salads (Asian-inspired or classic)
- Noodle bowls or brothy dishes
- Wraps or even sandwiches for extra crunch
They bring that crisp, refreshing contrast that can make a simple meal feel more complete, without adding heaviness.
When I bring them home, I clean them with vinegar. Let them sit a little bit, rinse them and keep them in a bowl of water in the fridge, changing the water every couple of days.
Light, simple and worth keeping on hand.

I started out over 10 years ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
