Happy Seasonal Sunday,
Labor Day has a powerful history that goes back to the 1880s when activists in New York City organized parades to honor the working class. By 1894, President Grover Cleveland signed legislation making the first Monday in September a national holiday.
This day reminds us of the labor movement’s hard-won achievements, like the eight-hour workday and protections against child labor, born out of the struggles during the Industrial Revolution’s harsh conditions.
And as we gather to enjoy the holiday, what better way to celebrate than with fresh, nourishing food?
That’s where my Grilled Veggie Skewers come in, colorful, flavorful and incredibly easy to make. Perfect for a relaxed Sunday dinner or for your Labor Day cookout on Monday.

Enjoy this holiday with gratitude, good company and food that truly nourishes.

I started out over 10 years ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
