For Tasty Tuesday, we’re keeping things fresh, bright and seasonal with a simple Citrus Avocado Salad that’s perfect for this time of year. Right now, citrus fruits like oranges are in season, which means they’re especially juicy, flavorful and refreshing. Seasonal produce not only tastes better, but it can also feel lighter and more supportive for digestion and overall energy.
This salad comes together quickly and is a great option when you want something nourishing without feeling heavy. The combination of creamy avocado and fresh citrus creates a balance that feels satisfying yet clean, making it ideal for this season or when you’re craving something vibrant and simple.
Quick Recipe (Serves 1–2)
- 1–2 fresh oranges, peeled and sliced
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- Mixed greens (optional)
- Pinch of salt and pepper
- Optional: a squeeze of lemon or seeds for crunch
Simply layer or gently toss everything together and enjoy.
Eating with the seasons can be one of the easiest ways to support your body and this citrus avocado salad is a delicious reminder of how good simple food can be.

I started out over 10 years ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
