Have you ever wondered why some women experience so many difficult symptoms during menopause while others seem to breeze through it?
For me, menopause was a very different experience and I believe my whole-food, plant-based lifestyle played an important role.
After adopting a plant-based lifestyle, I lost nearly 50 pounds and, more importantly, I was able to keep the weight off. I also noticed that I wasn’t experiencing some of the symptoms I had heard so much about, such as hot flashes and sleepless nights.
Instead, I felt like I had more energy. I was sleeping well, feeling good and enjoying the way the food I was eating made me feel.
My experience isn’t meant to say that every woman will have the same experience. Menopause is different for everyone. But it did make me realize just how much the foods we eat and the lifestyle choices we make can influence how we feel as we move through this stage of life.
For me, eating a whole-food, plant-based diet wasn’t just about losing weight. It became a way of taking care of myself, feeling energized and supporting my health as I moved through menopause.
Have you noticed a difference in how you feel during menopause based on the foods you eat?

I started out over a decade ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
