Juicing fruit may seem like the healthiest choice, but whole fruit offers something juice simply can’t provide, fiber. Fiber works together with the fruit’s natural sugars, helping you feel satisfied while slowing the absorption of those sugars.
When fruit is turned into juice, much of that beneficial fiber is removed. That means it’s much easier to drink several pieces of fruit in just a few minutes than it is to eat them whole, making whole fruit the more satisfying option for most people.
Whenever possible, reach for fresh, frozen or even dried whole fruit instead of fruit juice. You’ll enjoy the same naturally sweet flavor while getting the fiber that helps make fruit such a nourishing part of a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle.
Do you usually reach for whole fruit or fruit juice?

I started out over a decade ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
