During menopause, taking care of your heart becomes especially important. Blood pressure is one simple number worth keeping an eye on as part of your overall cardiovascular health.
A whole-food, plant-based lifestyle can be a powerful part of that picture. Filling your plate with vegetables, fruits, whole grains and beans provides plenty of nourishing foods while naturally keeping saturated fat low.
And this is one reason all of my recipes are oil-free. Oil is a concentrated source of fat without the fiber, vitamins and minerals found in the whole foods it comes from. Keeping oil out of my recipes allows the focus to stay on the whole, nourishing ingredients themselves. A low-fat, starch-based diet centered around fruits and vegetables can also support cardiovascular health and healthy blood pressure.
Take care of your heart, one delicious meal at a time!

I started out over a decade ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
