For today’s Menopause Monday, I’m sharing something that often gets misunderstood.

This is not rose hips. This is rosebuds and they are quietly powerful.

Rosebuds are naturally rich in vitamin C, but what makes them especially supportive during menopause is their cooling nature. Traditionally, they’ve been used to help take excess heat out of the body, which can be helpful for hot flashes, fevers and that sudden internal warmth many women experience.

I first discovered rosebuds over ten years ago when a friend from Taiwan gifted them to me. What stood out immediately was how gentle yet effective they felt, calming, soothing and deeply balancing rather than stimulating.

When night sweats show up, small changes can make a real difference. Cooling the room, choosing light and breathable bedding and supporting the body internally can all help reduce discomfort. On especially warm nights, a simple cup of rosebud tea is one of my favorite ways to gently cool things down.

Sometimes the most supportive remedies aren’t loud or complicated, they’re quiet, time-tested and shared with care.

P.S. Make sure your rosebuds are food grade, they’re usually available at Asian markets. Follow the instructions on the package, as sometimes they need to be rinsed or soaked.
