Fruit truly feels like one of nature’s greatest gifts, sweet, colorful, refreshing and ready to enjoy just as it is. From spring through fall, farmers markets and grocery stores are filled with an abundance of fresh fruits, each bringing its own unique flavors, colors and nutrients.
One of the wonderful things about fruit is that its bounty doesn’t have to end when the seasons change. Many fruits freeze beautifully, making it easy to enjoy berries, peaches, cherries, mangoes and other favorites throughout the colder months. Frozen fruit can be added to smoothies, oatmeal, nice cream or fruit tarts. It can also be thawed and enjoyed in a bowl with fresh banana, grapes or apples, which are readily available year-round.
Fruit can also be surprisingly versatile in savory dishes. Grilled peaches and pineapple, for example, can add a delicious twist to veggie burgers, grain bowls, salads and fresh salsas. The natural sweetness pairs beautifully with herbs, vegetables and whole grains, creating exciting combinations that celebrate the flavors of the season.
Whether enjoyed fresh, frozen, blended, grilled or added to your favorite recipes, fruit offers a simple reminder of nature’s abundance and generosity.

I started out over a decade ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
