This week’s favorite is something simple, satisfying and perfect to have on hand, a creamy Black Bean Dip that’s completely plant-based and oil-free.
It’s rich, flavorful and comes together in minutes, making it a great option for snacking, sharing or adding to meals throughout the week.
Black Bean Dip
Ingredients (about 3–4 servings):
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1–2 tbsp lime juice
- 1 small garlic clove
- ½ tsp cumin
- ¼ tsp chili powder
- 2–4 tbsp water (to blend)
- Salt to taste (optional)
Instructions
- Add everything to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust water as needed to reach your desired consistency.
- Enjoy with fresh veggies, whole grain crackers or spread onto wraps and bowls for an easy, nourishing addition.
Simple, delicious and always a crowd-pleaser, this one’s definitely a favorite!

I started out over 10 years ago watching Forks Over Knives, decided to “try out” the plant-based meal plan and had shockingly incredible results. I’ve never turned back. I have lost nearly 50 pounds, and that is just one side effect that me, my family, friends and clients have experienced after making the change.
Having been an incredible cook my entire adult life, I started my own personal chef service, NuYu Nourish, to extend my help to others. I interned under a celebrity chef, became a celebrity chef myself and have been expanding my reach and goals ever since! My plan follows strictly and simply those of Dr. Mcdougall, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn.
